Summer in Surrey is about to explode with energy, culture, music, food and unforgettable community celebrations. From giant multicultural festivals and international sporting events to local night markets and family-friendly outdoor adventures, Surrey is quickly becoming one of British Columbia’s most exciting summer destinations. Whether you’re a longtime local or planning a visit, 2026 is shaping up to be one of the city’s biggest event seasons yet.

At the top of the list is Surrey Canada Day at Cloverdale Fairgrounds on July 1, one of the largest free celebrations in Western Canada. Expect fireworks, live music, rides, food trucks and thousands of families enjoying a full day of entertainment. If there’s one event that captures Surrey’s community spirit, this is it.

Another major highlight is the Surrey Fusion Festival at Holland Park on July 18 and 19. This beloved multicultural festival transforms the park into a global experience filled with international food pavilions, music and cultural performances from around the world. It’s one of the best ways to experience Surrey’s incredible diversity in one unforgettable weekend.

Music lovers will also flock to FVDED in the Park on July 3 and 4, where Holland Park becomes the epicenter of electronic dance music. With major DJs, energetic crowds and a festival atmosphere that attracts visitors from across Canada, FVDED continues to put Surrey on the national entertainment map.

Food festivals are also taking center stage this summer. BC Halal Food Fest from July 24 to 26 celebrates halal cuisine and multicultural entertainment, while Naija Food Fest on August 1 and 2 brings vibrant Nigerian food and culture to Surrey. Red FM Summer Bhangra Jam on August 1 delivers high-energy Punjabi music and dance at Surrey Civic Plaza, followed by Jamaica Day on August 2 featuring Caribbean food, reggae and family entertainment.

Later in August, the Surrey Greek Food Festival offers authentic Greek cuisine and entertainment, while the KPOP & Food Festival on August 29 combines Korean pop culture with delicious street food and performances. The A.C.C.E.S.S Afro Caribbean Festival of Surrey on August 22 and 23 adds even more music, dance and celebration to an already packed summer calendar.

Neighbourhood events are also creating excitement across the city. The Clayton Night Market series runs throughout the summer with local vendors, food and live entertainment. Fleetwood Block Party returns July 18 for another community celebration, while the Bumper to Bumper Car Show on July 19 is expected to draw auto enthusiasts from across the Lower Mainland.

Families looking for affordable summer fun will find plenty of options through City-run programs, including Surrey Nature Centre Discovery Days, Family Game Nights and sensory-friendly swim sessions. Sports fans can also enjoy the Canada Cup International Softball Championship from July 3 to 12 and RunSurreyRun in September.

Surrey’s summer events showcase far more than entertainment, they reflect the city’s incredible diversity, community pride and growing reputation as one of Canada’s most vibrant cultural hubs. The energy is contagious, the experiences are memorable, and the calendar is packed from June through September.

This summer, don’t just stay home watching everyone else post their adventures online. Get out, explore Surrey, taste something new, dance to unfamiliar music and experience the heartbeat of one of BC’s fastest-growing cities.
